The use of Coconut Coir fiber goes back thousands of years, being mentioned by the Greeks. Methods for coir extraction and use had already been adapted and perfected before 60 A.D. and the extensive use of coconut coir fiber for ships cables and rigging was reported by Arab traders in the 11th century. The creation of coir pads began in the latter half of the 19th century by the carpet firms of Treloar and Sons in England.
Natural and organic palm coir (coconut fiber) from recycled coconut husks. The rise in demand for coconut water has left huge amounts of coconut fiber waste in the form of discarded husks (85% of each coconut is the husk). These coconut husks are now recycled instead of being thrown away. The process of creating coconut coir pads from raw coconuts begins with turning the husk into rope. This recipe has been used in Asia and Germany for centuries and now available in America. There are 5 basic steps for creating coconut coir, they include harvesting, husking, retting, defibering and finishing or bundling. Once the coir has been separated from the husk, it is then sprayed with liquid latex, compressed and then vulcanized. This process creates a highly durable, springlike material that is breathable and resistant to mold and mildew. This Coconut coir is an ideal substitute for metal springs and polyurethane foam cores and will outlast both for years.
Another benefit of coconut coir mattresses is moisture resistance. Unlike polyurethane foam mattresses that tend to absorb and retain moisture, making your bed dip or sag, coconut coir fiber passes moisture through it, allowing the moisture to dissipate more easily out of your mattress. Trapped moisture allows for mold growth and attract insects. Water easily travels through our coconut fiber, allowing it to evaporate, and the coconut naturally repels germs, bed bugs. The all natural eco friendly breathable natural core of coconut can be used alone or sandwiched between layers of natural latex, micro-springs and virgin wool producing an all natural coconut fiber eco friendly extra-firm mattress. The highest quality most natural ingredients without harmful chemicals. Great for every night sleep. Feel the difference.
