How is cotton harvested?

The seed cotton is retained in the boll until the plant dies (due to cold weather or chemical harvesting aids), when the cotton stripper is employed to remove the whole boll. The stripper extracts the boll using two counter-rotating stripper rollers consisting of nylon brushes and rubber bats.
