“Natural” and “organic” are words you see everywhere. But we don’t want you to simply take our word for it. GOTS establishes requirements for certified organic textiles that extend beyond the fiber itself and into covered stages of processing and manufacturing.
GOTS Standard Audit:

- TRACEABILITY: Documentation and identification of materials through covered stages of the certified supply chain.
- RESPONSIBLE PROCESSING: Requirements for how covered textiles are processed.

When I started The Futon Shop in 1976, I wanted to create comfortable products using natural materials and thoughtful craftsmanship.
I’ve always cared about what goes inside the things we make—where our materials come from, how they’re handled and how we put everything together.
Our belief in natural materials came long before GOTS existed.
Today, GOTS certification represents another chapter in that story: adding independent verification and greater transparency to the covered parts of how we make.
