Custom Piping for Futon Covers

Piping is the welting that is sewn on your futon cover wherever there are seams. This makes a futon mattress look more like a cushion or a conventional box spring style mattress. Many feels this simple decorative embellishment to their mattress greatly adds to the look of their futon. For the piping you can choose the same fabric or a contrasting fabric, depending on what look you are going for. Mix and match to create a futon that is as stunning visually as it is comfortable to sleep on.

Key product features:

  • Decorative addition to futon covers.
  • Made out of whatever fabric you select, although obviously it works better with ones that aren't textured or cheniles.
  • Can create a great contrast to the colors in your futon just add to the over all look.
  • Adds extra visual dimension to any futon mattress when incorporated into futon cover.

The word FUTON is a Japanese word originally referring to any round mat our cushion filled with leaves. The traditional Japanese Futon is a group of three products making up a bed. The three products consist of a futon, which is a thin cotton pad, a shikibuton which is a three folding pad that sits under the thin cotton pad, and a Kakibuton which is a comforter that goes on top of the thin cotton pad. The environment will in most situations determine the type of futon slipcover you need. By environment, I am referring to not only the space itself, but the what other items are the sharing the space and who will be using it. As an example, do you have children or pets? Will this be used as a main piece of furniture in a living room, or as an occasional in the guest room. If you are in a moist environment or are planning to have your mattress outside, an acrylic outdoor futon slipcover will be ideal rather than a cotton futon slipcover as cotton absorbs moisture and the acrylic is both moisture and mold resistant. For children and pets, a microfiber futon cover may be a better option as microfiber is stain resistant, water repellent and machine washable. Learn more about What's The Best Mattress Cover?

When looking to purchase a new futon slipcover or pillow case it is important to consider its construction.
