Pantone announced their 2018 color of the year to be Ultra Violet, a “mystical or spiritual” color that stimulates grounding and spiritual Energy. In an article recently by Architectural Digest, an easy way to incorporate purple into your home is with accents such as flowers, rugs, or a few pillows.

Meditation
Pantone Institute says there is a “mystical or spiritual quality attached to Ultra Violet. The color is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world. The use of purple-toned lighting in meditation spaces and other gathering places energizes the communities that gather there and inspire connection."

Add A Pillow
Experts from Domino say pair purple with gray or bring a little texture with a combo of blue, green, and purple. Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute believes the color 2018 color Ultra Violet both has warm and cool features that can be functional and versatile in any room. And then their was Prince!! According to Pantone Institute, Love Symbol #2 is the purple hue associated with Prince and together with Pantone and Prince’s Estate honors musical icon the “love Symbol #2”.
The color originated with Prince’s album cover in 1984 with the movie Purple Rain and with following soundtracks like “Purple One” and “Love Symbol #2”. Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of Pantone Color Institute says, “We are honored to have worked on the development of Love Symbol #2, a distinctive new purple shade in memory of Prince.” Other musical icons like David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix were picked as Pantone’s inspiration with this year’s color because they have “long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventional, and artistic brilliance.
