We only use the purest and most natural ingredients in each handmade organic mattresses. USDA Certified Organic Cotton is the main ingredients in each organic mattress and futon. All Natural Dunlop Latex, American Grown Virgin Wool, Eco-Friendly Soy-based Foam Memory Foam and Memory Foam Gels as well as Innerspring and pocket coils made from recycled steel. These elements are combined to create the most comfortable all natural sofa bed mattresses, organic mattresses and futon mattresses in the world. All our mattresses are hand made right here in the San Francisco, California USA. Organic Cotton and Natural Wool: Our Extra Long soft and silky USDA Certified Organic Cotton is designed to give your mattress a soft pillow-like feeling. We do not want to lose mattress support so we compress our cotton down to just the right compression to maintain softness yet offer support. Adding Virgin Wool to any Futon mattress gives it a cushier more supportive feel as the wool is light, fluffy and the fiber is crimped therefore it acts like a spring. We use naturally long crimp wool grown in the United States, so we do not have to artificially crimp our woolen fibers as found with New Zealand Wool. Using our GOTS Certified Organic Cotton mattress pad protectors will give the the extra softness and pure protection that you deserve.
Chemical Free Latex For our latex mattress we use only 100% pure Dunlop Latex in medium to extra firm densities based on your needs. Only Dunlop pure latex can give you densities of 40-45 ILD. We do not use Talalay Latex because it is much softer then Dunlop processed latex and can never reach the extra firm densities that give the most support for the best mattresses made today. Natural Latex mattresses are very heavy, as well as expensive so for those who need a light mattress or less expensive mattress we offer soy-based foams, and soy-based memory foams in a variety of densities as an alternative.
Soy-based Foams Our VOC free soy-based memory foams and convention soy-based foams offer high performance, have a green component and are better for the environment than petro-chemical foams. Our soy-based foams are a hybrid as we replace the petroleum based Polyols in our memory and polyurethane foams and we add soybean oil.
Our innerspring futon mattress offers No motion transfer What makes motion transfer from one side of the bed to the other is bouncy inner springs. In all our inner spring mattress collections we use 733 count pocketed coils or 353 count Bonnell coils. Our pocketed coils reduce motion transfer because they are not attached together. Each pocket coil is dropped into a pocket so if you bounce on one coil the next row does not move. Or if you choose one of our sofa sleeper mattresses without an innerspring there in no motion transfer at all.
