If you are a side sleeper our mattress will contour to the curves of your body, for men, woman, and children. Medium Firm will allow just the right amount to relieve pressure points and keep your spine, neck, and back aligned. If you weigh more than 230 lbs. we recommend firm to extra firm mattresses for optimal support. Tummy sleepers need medium to firm mattresses because you need to keep your spine properly aligned but the mattress must be forgiving enough to reduce pressure on your stomach and rib area. Therefore you need a mattress not to firm and not to soft.

The hair is gathered after the grooming process, which horses must go through anyway in order to keep them healthy. The hair is then cleaned and hand teased into a supportive layer of small springs. Although this takes longer than the use of machines, our hand teasing process ensures the best quality of mattress with even layer distribution.

While most synthetic fibers gradually flatten over time, Horse hair has been proven to keep its structure for several years, making it substantially more durable than other mattress fillers.

You do not need box springs for any of our mattresses. Most of our mattresses are designed to work on a slatted platform bed as well as a convertible futon sofa bed frame. If you would like a box spring we have designed an organic all natural coconut foundation.

Will my mattress have an odor?

All manufactured products have odors based on their components. American Wool sometimes has a fresh odor. Our natural and organic materials have not been treated with toxic chemicals.

The ingredients may contain a faint odor. You will find the scent dissipates over the course of a few weeks. Natural Latex does have a slight odor as well.
