NBJ, modular sofa seating, is inspired by Harvey Probber, a furniture designer from 1966 Rye New York. The NBJ sofa is a replica of a custom sofa designed for my mother Natalie Berry Jacobs in 1966 personally designed and installed by Harvey Probber, in our home in Rye New York. Harvey Probber was an American furniture designer who is credited with inventing sectional, modular seating in the 1940s. A "pioneer in the application of modular seating, ” many of his ideas have been adopted by other designers.
Our NBJ modular seating is not only modular, and totally customizable NBJ is made from 100% natural material with NO petrochemicals, NO fire retardant No harmful toxic finishes or ingredients. The seat is made from 6 inches of 100% natural Dunlop Latex, sitting on 2 inches of coconut coir based, The sofa is then wrapped in 100% wool. The backs of made from Latex and wool.
