Night & Day Furniture - P Series Platform Beds vs K Series Platform Beds

Some of Night and Day Furniture's platform bed frames come with the description of "K" Series. These special types of platform bed frames differ from our standard, or "P" series platform beds in that they rest higher off the floor than the standard "P" series frames. The P series design was originally made to be able to accommodate both mattress and boxspring foundation, without being too high from the floor. However, with more and more mattresses being made that do not require foundations, such as the mattresses made by Futon Shop, a higher option was needed.

The new "K Series" height allows for the use of the bigger bunk bed drawers and/or trundle and "K Series" footboards already have the privacy panel built in.

In addition to the higher profile of the K-Series Platform Beds, they also include a built in modesty panel on the footboard, not found included with the P-Series Models.

Because of the demand for both types of styles, Night and Day Furnitures has begun to design frames to be both "K Series" and "P Series" capable. The headboards will have both sets of holes for using either way and are marked as "Dual System".
